The Steve Lux Conference Scholarship Award is given to honor Steve for his many years of service to the Mid-America College Health Association and the American College Health Association, as well as his passion for college health.
Steve Lux has been involved with the American College Health Association since 1982. In 2002 he was named a fellow in recognition of professional standing in the field of college and university health. Steve was also awarded the ACHA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. Additionally, he served as Mid-America College Health Association affiliate president twice, as well as Conference Program Chair, Secretary/Treasurer, and Vice President. Steve truly dedicated his professional life to improving the health of college students.
A scholarship of up to $500 to attend the annual MACHA conference will be given at the board’s discretion and is dependent on adequate funding. Nominations and at least one letter of recommendation are required for application.
The award will be given to a new (five years or less in current position) and promising college health professional. Nominations require a statement of need, at least one letter of recommendation, and a short statement of what the nominee intends to accomplish by attending the conference.
The 2016 award deadline is Monday, May 2. The winner will be announced at the Mid-America College Health Association affiliate meeting at the ACHA Annual Meeting in San Francisco.
